Business Sisters Networking - June 27, 2023

Summer is finally here and what better way to kick off the networking season with a bang than to go to the farm! To Leslie McDonald’s flower farm and special event venue, Munroe’s Mills Flower Co., in Apple Hill, ON. This is a beautiful site that welcomes weddings and family gatherings in a gorgeous, renovated barn. This means we will be able to open our doors to welcome more Business Sisters than we typically do. The event is therefore rain or shine, but fingers crossed, we will enjoy one of those perfect summer evenings so you can mingle with your Business Sisters in the garden!

About Leslie McDonald, Our Host

Leslie is a passionate gardener, having learned about floral cultivation from her mom from a young age. After a career in the healthcare industry in Toronto, Leslie found her way back home and took over a farm just down the road from where she grew up. She still works as a nurse in Cornwall, and yet finds the energy to operate this beautiful flower farm.

About the Event

Come tour the gardens and meet new and familiar women business owners from across SD&G and Prescott-Russell (since we know the nice weather will bring people from further afield!).

On the menu will be fresh, tasty local treats in a box so you can mill around and enjoy the floral scents all around. Your ticket also includes a glass of wine or beer, and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and flavoured mineral waters. (We appreciate you for consuming responsibly. If you come as a group, designate a driver!).

Leslie will have carefully picked bouquets (quantities limited). Why not bring a bouquet home to enjoy? PLUS, we will have a photo corner, which you will not want to miss!

There will be door prizes, as is our custom, with a special branded gift from our friends and title partners at Desjardins, along gift certificates and other goodies from women-owned businesses from the area!

You already know there will be photos taken, yet keep in mind we can use those in social media posts and on this website. So, SMILE!

We aim to be inclusive, so this event is open to anyone who owns or operates a business or wishes to work with women entrepreneurs. Allies are always welcome.
