Sister Showcase

Three people

We'd like to take the time to thank some of the amazing women who have worked hard and been pillars in the rural community.

Alyson Graham

Cedarwood Services

A big virtual shoutout to our neighbour (we live on the same concession) and Business Sister Alyson Graham, owner of Cedarwood Services. Alyson and her team provide in-home, non-medical support for seniors. They help many of our elders feel independent and safe in their own homes. With degrees in Gerontology and Sociology, Alyson cares deeply about taking care of our older population. She even teaches at St-Lawrence College in the Dementia Studies Continuing Education Department. Thank you for all you do, Alyson!

Kim MacLennan Peeters

Town & Country Flowers and Gifts

We want to give a big sisterly #ShoutOut to Kim MacLennan Peeters of Town & Country Flowers and Gifts, a wonderful florist and gift shop here in Alexandria. Kim was reluctant to get her photo taken last September… But doesn’t she look marvelous? A pillar of our community, Kim administers the Glengarry Business and Community Information Group. She was one of the first people Doreen remembers re-opening from COVID last May, for Mother’s Day. She took to the airwaves with her FB Lives and showed us what she had in stock.

Chantal Tranchemontagne

Big Catch Communications

Today we shine the light on Chantal Tranchemontagne, the genius behind Big Catch Communications. If you need a creative mind to craft your content strategy, Chantal is your gal! You can witness in action Chantal's passion for her hometown of Cornwall and the surrounding areas of Akwesasne, and Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry with the wonderful publication she produces called Perch Magazine.
